Strategies for improving student growth in a data-driven era.
Join us for a dynamic day of sessions where educators will share their data-driven strategies for student growth. Uncover transformative tools like “Student Story” dashboard and OnCourse MTSS, built to will help districts achieve student success.
Let’s learn, connect, and share success stories from districts across the state.
The sessions below take place on Wednesday, November 29. Join any workshop and be entered to win a gift from under the purple OnCourse tree!
11AM – Randie Bailey, Michelle Seymour, & Robyn Gibson-Bazile, St. John the Baptist Parish,
With shifts across several departments, the St. John team planned opportunities to bring their leaders together, with one common goal – helping their students grow. Join St. John’s Curriculum Team as they share the impact of collaborating over data to take a pulse of their students. Learn how they developed data dashboards to monitor student progress, implement intentional interventions, and achieve their goal of student growth.
12PM – Jodi Lemoine, West Feliciana Parish & Tyra Starkey, OnCourse
The West Feliciana team sought to understand all their SPS data in a more impactful way. They set out to design a dashboard that could help staff increase opportunities for students, save time on data crunching, and ultimately raise School Performance Scores. Join this session to see this SPS Dashboard and learn how it works in WestFel.
1 PM – Jennie Foster, Iberia Parish
All tests are NOT created equal! Some of Louisiana’s most popular assessment programs use items that are unvetted for rigor or alignment. In this session, we’ll discuss Iberia Parish’s process of improving the rigor/alignment of benchmark tests and scoring the predictive strength of each test through correlation with LEAP scores. The result? Data-driven interventions that improved LEAP scores in both ELA and Math.
2 PM – Tre Gonzalez, OnCourse
Are your schools data-rich but information poor? “Data as a story” is being embraced in parishes like Bossier, Lafourche, West Feliciana, West Baton Rouge, etc. Join this session to see examples of a “Student Story” dashboard that pulls 20+ aspects of a student’s career into a single 360-degree view; academics, behavior, attendance, growth, parent engagement, LEAP scores, strength of diploma, standards mastery, and lots more.
3pm – Amy Ard, Tangipahoa Parish Schools
In an effort to increase literacy scores across the state, LDOE has implemented new requirements for literacy screeners. Monitoring student progression between screeners is increasingly important, but also time consuming. Join Amy Ard as she shares the impact of using interactive data dashboards to quickly track Dibels data, progress monitor between checkpoints, and efficiently collect important data points across the district.
4 PM – OnCourse Team
Give your teams a simple, evidence-based way to manage interventions and growth! Learn how OnCourse MTSS can help your instructional teams by 1) collecting a full picture of student data in one place, 2) auto-grouping kids in need of intervention, and 3) letting your team design and track interventions, strategies, and growth.
